Et finalement, le Royaume Uni, douze points!

Here at Eurovision Express, we've always had a soft spot for Switzerland. We'll even forgive the fact that they beat the UK by one point in 1988, because it was a great song and it was Celine Dion!

Last year our favourite entry was Paolo Meneguzzi's Era Stupendo; we loved DJ Bobo's Vampires Are Alive in 2007; and we reckon this year's song from Lovebugs is great too.

If we trawl back even further, Switzerland has also provided us with gems like Swiss Lady (1977) and Amour, on t'aime (1982).

So we're delighted to hear that OGAE Switzerland, the Swiss fan club, has awarded its douze points to the UK!

Eurovision Express has always done its best to develop strong links with Switzerland.

One of Switzerland's French-speaking commentators, Nicolas Tanner, is no stranger to Eurovision Express - we've rubbed shoulders with him at more contests than we care to remember! Always with an ear for good music and an unbiased approach, we're confident he'll make sure the Swiss public is fully briefed before they pick up their phones to vote. And, of course, if that follows the lead given by their fan club (ie voting for the UK!) then so much the better!

You can follow Nicolas' blog (in French) here.

Bon Chance La Suisse!

Amazing Swiss entries from Annie Cotton, 'Io senza te' (Peter, Sue and Marc), Sandra Simo and Vanilla Ninja.

Absolutely loved Switzerland and was gutted last year when it didn't make the final. It was my biggest Eurovision let down since Kate Ryan/Belgium previously. Anyway really like Switzerland again this year and hope it goes Top 5...one of my favs this year :)

Hurrah for Switzerland! Although The Highest Heights is a bit of a dirge...

I LOVE "the highest heights"...a mix of two New Order songs: 'Bizarre Love Triangle" and "True Faith."

Switzerland WILL qualify from the semis this song! Schlagerboys will eat their words! Heather Scot.
